Earth Hour 2008

The most intense global event that I like it is the 'grande' Earth Hour. I talked with my friends from Romanian and I was amazed when they told me that my back home city was DARK for 1 hour on March 29th :) .They told me it was incredible.
Hopefully if you are reading this article right now you may wonder what is this global event "Earth Hour" stands for.
Well, lets say you have it enough with the global warning and pollution. If you do want to do something against it, you may not drive cars with big emissions, you may care about recycling, but you also can really do something that the entire world can see. Well this is the Earth Hour, it is an hour per year that you have (if you want to) live without electricity.

If you are still a little bit messed up about I said and you still do not get it, or you just want to feel hows like in that SPECIAL HOUR, here you go, watch this movie.

Nikola Tesla`s Creativity

More about Nikola Tesla - About his creativity.

As George Kneller said: "Creativity, it has been said, consists largely of re-arranging what we know in order to find out what we do not know," Nikola Tesla demonstrated it practical. With the help of his creation, nowadays our children play with their little remote toy cars. They do not think about the real creativity and shocking ideas of Nikola Tesla who, 100 years ago, could make this thing possible. Now, for us it may be simple to use the vacuum and to watch television, but all of these could not happen if it was no creation and creativity. All the inventions, since the human being existed, would not exist without creativity, this simple and complex at the same time aspect of our vision. In order to invent the wheel or to invent a simple shirt, people needed creative minds. We can say, the bigger is the invention, the bigger ‘amount’ of creation the creator has to use and has to have. Therefore, we can say that Nikola Tesla is one of the most creative people known by today.

Nikola Tesla’s Life

As I studied this semster a lot about Nikola Tesla I would like to talk a little bit about his life.

Nikola Tesla was born in a Serbian family, in the village of Smiljan, Croatian Krajina, Military Frontier, on July 10th, 1856. He graduated the Austrian Polytechnic at Graz. Later, he studied mathematics, physics and mechanics at the University of Prague, Czechoslovakia, for four years. There, the teachers found out that he had a remarkable memory, so he could mentally perform calculus equation. He possessed good photographic memory that made possible his astounding creative visualization. Later, he immigrated to America, becoming an American citizen. For him, the language was not a problem because, while in university, he knew to speak fluently six languages. After finishing the University, he started inventing amazing creations. In America, people started considering him a genius and he ended up standing by Einstein and even Leonardo Da Vinci. He was considered a genius because he invented shocking things for those times like radio, electrical engine, Tesla Coil, the alternative current. Because of Nikola Tesla’s work, Einstein created the “Theory of Everything". Before his death, which occurred on January 7th, 1943, in a New York City hotel room, at the age of 86, Tesla wrote: "The scientific man does not aim at an immediate result. He does not expect that his advanced ideas will be readily taken up. His work is like that of the planter for the future. His duty is to lay the foundation for those who are to come, and point the way. He lives and labors and hopes."

Creativity

As we know I like to create web-sites. Well for that I say you have to be creative, especially when you design the template. I will talk about the main steps that you have to follow in order to create a good website, and afterwards about the creativity in its design. The steps of making a good web-site are:
- think about your theme
- research it and look over other similar web-sites
- think about a domain name (e.g. www.licitatii-virtuale.ro)
- plan the structure and analyze it
- design the template
- create the html version of the main pages
- now transform the html version (if needed) into a dynamic version (like *.php, *.asp)

Now lets talk about the fun part, about the creativity.

The creative aspect of design is hard; it seems easy but try to open a graphics editor and create a logo, an image, an entire template for a website or for software that you like. Even in creating a simple logo the process of thinking and reflecting about what you want to draw is intense. After you think about an idea and you know what you want to draw, comes the hardest part. You have to put together all the lines, all the colors, all the backgrounds, the font size, the shadow and then the image comes from your mind onto the screen of your computer. This is the most difficult aspect of creation; to know what you have in mind and put in on the 'paper'. I bet everyone has magnificent creative little bugs in their mind and they are imagining them in a perfect way that in reality do not exist, but just a few can express their bugs, their mind into the material plane, onto 'hardware' or 'software'.
Ok, I admit, I went off of the topic a little but I will add some creations made by me.

Here are some logos made by me:
